The towns of Paxton and Rutland will each have Special Town Meetings this fall.

PAXTON: Monday, December 1, 7 pm, Zecco Auditorium, Anna Maria College, 50 Sunset Ln. This is a change of location from the original plan. Opening date of the Warrant: Tuesday, October 14. Anticipated closing date of the Warrant: Monday, November 10. Warrant posting date: No later than Monday, November 17. Last date to register to vote for the Special Town Meeting: Friday, November 21. The Town Clerk’s office will be open on the 21st from 9 am to 5 pm for residents to register to vote or you can register online on the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website at https://www.sec.state.ma.us/OVR/

RUTLAND: Thursday, November 20, 6 pm, Glenwood Elementary School. The Warrant opened on Monday, September 15 and closed September 19. The final warrant will be posted no later than Thursday, November 6. Last date to register to vote for the Special Town Meeting was Monday, November 10. Among other articles to be voted on, this year’s warrant includes modifications to the FY2026 operating budget, capital requests for town buildings and equipment, street acceptance requests, and the new stormwater bylaw.
