Wachusett Youth Football and Cheer 12U

The Wachusett Youth Football and Cheer 12U tackle team has wrapped up a truly remarkable season, one that will be etched in the memories of players, coaches, and families for years to come. Under the leadership of Head Coach Josh Lowe, the team achieved an undefeated regular season, finishing 8-0 before falling in the semifinals to close the year at 8-1. But the story of this team goes far beyond the wins and losses.

“For the past three years, I’ve had the pleasure of growing with this team,” said Coach Lowe. “We’ve focused on building a culture where kids can learn the game of football, and win or lose, we’re still family. It’s about creating a brotherhood they’ll remember for a lifetime.”

The team is a mix of players with varying levels of athletic ability, but one thing unites them all: heart. “They keep climbing the mountain of success, even when the climb is steep and hard,” Lowe added. “Their dedication to getting better is something every coach dreams of in a player.”

The season began with a nail-biting win against a tough opponent, setting the tone for what would become a dominant run. By Week 4, the team had racked up four consecutive wins, allowing only 12 points across those games. It was then that Coach Lowe began to wonder: Could this be the year they go undefeated?

The answer came in Week 8, when Wachusett capped off their regular season with another decisive victory, finishing 8-0. Over the course of the season, the team scored an impressive 237 points while allowing just 37—a testament to their hard work, discipline, and teamwork.

While their playoff run ended in the semifinals, the season was nothing short of extraordinary, especially considering the team’s journey from two years of losing seasons to this year’s triumph. “To pull this off was absolutely incredible,” said Lowe.

The team’s success was a collective effort, with contributions from a dedicated coaching staff that included Assistant Coaches Dwayne Forbes, Tom Galvin, Dan Kelly, Sean McSheehy, and Mike Mastro. Team Mom Sarah Galvin played a vital role in keeping everything running smoothly off the field. Leadership on the field came from team captains Leium Foley, Vince Mastro, Treyvon Forbes, and Paul Rehrig, who set the tone for their teammates with their commitment and drive.

As the season comes to a close, the Wachusett 12U team can hold their heads high, knowing they’ve built something special—both on and off the field. They’ve proven that success isn’t just about the scoreboard; it’s about heart, hard work, and the bonds that will last a lifetime.
