Even Flow Pressure & Soft Washing Can Brighten Your Home and Roof
Even Flow Pressure & Soft Washing is a family-owned business established by local resident Rob Abady. Abady started pressure washing in 2002 while running another business but decided to concentrate on soft washing full time in 2020.
Abady has invested in high-quality equipment and schooling to provide his customers with the finest service. He personally ensures that his customers are educated about the benefits and processes of low pressure washing and roof rejuvenation.
So, while “pressure washing” is in the title of the business, it is not his main focus. Concentrating on low pressure washing and roof rejuvenation, he works on asphalt, metal, slate, and cedar roofs and houses with vinyl, wood, cedar, stucco, and aluminum sidings. He works to remove efflorescence, calcite, oil, grease, and rust stains.
According to Abady, pressure washing and soft washing are “two entirely different trades.” Pressure washing is used primarily for stone and concrete. Soft washing incorporates biodegradable solutions that do not accumulate in the environment over decades.
Pressure washing the exterior of a home can also create a whole host of problems: Cracks in the siding, oxidization, which can lead to premature fading and a chalky texture, electrical problems, and allowing water into the soffit and the attic. When pressure washing wood, there is damage to the cellulose and lignin that hold the wood together. Abady advised, “We don’t recommend hiring a handyman, painter, or anyone who doesn’t specialize in exterior cleaning.”
Therefore, the reason for soft washing is clear. Unlike high pressure, Abady explained, “Low pressure keeps the house cleaner for longer, while protecting the clear protective coating on vinyl siding. On roofs, we follow a similar procedure in order to eliminate damage to shingles.”
Roof washing prolongs the life of the roof for a fraction of the cost of a new one. “When we wash a roof, not only does it look brand new, but it stops further shingle damage,” Abady said.
After seven years of research, Abady has added roof rejuvenation to his services. Now that in-depth research and development and third-party testing has been completed, Even Flow has begun roof rejuvenation in tandem with roof washing.
Abady explained the process of rejuvenation: “Once a roof has been cleaned and if the shingles are five years old or more, we add a bio-oil replacing the oils lost to aging. The method restores flexibility, increases the asphalt’s bond to the shingle granules, and decreases moisture vapor. Without the oil, asphalt shingles become brittle, lose protective mineral granules, and become porous rather than waterproof. When all this happens, the roof will begin to crack.”
With each application, the life of the roof is extended by five years, and it can be applied up to three times. “We feel like this is a great service because of the high cost of roof replacement,” added Abady.
“Even Flow guarantees all of our roof washing to remove 100 percent of all organic matter and all the black streaks,” Abady said. “Our prices remain the same as long as you own the home.”
Helping customers save money is Abady’s top priority. “We believe that you would spend more money by not taking care of your roof than by undergoing periodic maintenance,” Abady said. In addition, “We keep shingles out of landfills, as it takes at least 300 years to decompose.”
